Tokyo, May 30 (ANI): Union Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai said that Japan has come forth to sell its domestically designed and manufactured amphibian aircraft to India. He informed media persons that it was one of the main salient features of the joint statement issued by the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his host Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Explaining this specialised aircraft's wide range and dual utility, Mathai, said that it was one of the few occasions, when Japan had considered such a deal. Further he noted that Japan had also assured to cooperate in certain crucial infrastructure development projects in India. Mathai mentioned that an agreement was signed between the two countries, in which Japan promised to fund the Metro railway (line 2) project in Mumbai.
